Police Shoots Colleague Dead After Heated Argument

A police officer in Kirinyaga has been arrested after shooting dead his colleague following a heated argument.

The disagreement between the two officers arose at Gathambi Coffee Factory, where they were allegedly stationed to provide security services.

According to the security guards at the factory who witnessed the tragic incident, the officer who pulled the trigger was drunk and was the one who started the fight.

They noticed the drunk officer continuously harassed his colleague, causing him to respond with violent rants.

Joseph Mwika, Ndia sub-county police boss who confirmed the incident noted the two officers were based at Ndiriti Police Station.

Mwika said the rogue officer had been arrested and detained for further investigation. Reports say that the murdered police officer was also a pastor in a local church.
