Ole made an incredible run! He only conceded two defeats in 18 matches that began as United conquered Paris and improbably reignited a top-four challenge that had been written off prior to his appointment.

Despite reiterating no new announcement would be made until the end of the season United eventually buckled under the immense pressure and gave Solskjaer the job which his incredible impact had warranted.
However, a dire end to the season raised questions of Solskjaer’s suitability to the club and a year to the day of his arrival United are a point worse than when Mourinho was sacked
