Police Officer Found Dead In His Bedroom

On Friday, October 23, Constable David Murai, a police officer,  was found dead in his bedroom in Garden Estate, Nyahururu County.

Police Officers visited the crime scene later in the day and found the Constable’s body kneeling beside his bed with a rope tightly tied to his neck while the other end of the rope was found tied to the bed.

Selina Wambui, wife to the deceased police officer, revealed in a police statement that her husband committed suicide.

Police reports detailed that neighbours claimed that the couple often had marital conflicts. Wambui has since been arrested for questioning after saying that she was in the house the entire night.

David Murai’s body was taken Nyahururu Hospital Mortuary.

The Police have since launched investigations into the matter to establish if the Constable committed suicide or was killed.
