Students at Moi Girls High School in Eldoret have on Wednesday February 17 2020 went on strike over a change of school diet by the institution.
Moi Girls High School is among the top national schools within the country that records impeccable academic performance.
According to reports, the students called for the removal of the school principal, Christine Chumba accusing her for poor food menu.
Among the issues aired by the students include the closing down of school canteen and removal of eggs, meat, and fruits from their menu.
They further claimed their daily diet now consists of ugali and cabbage despite the school fee structure not being reviewed downwards.
The students have boycotted classes and camped at the school gate armed with chants and placards.
They have gone further accusing the principal for funds mismanagement and mistreating both the staff and students.
Media reports indicate a section of the support staff claimed they were being caned by Chumba.
