What president Uhuru really needed from pope Francis.

The pope is finally here and as expected, he bears a lot of messages of hope and goodwill with plenty of blessings for Kenyans.

After being received by President Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday evening, shortly after landing at the JKIA, the pope headed straight to the state house where he was to give a short speech to the public.

During President Uhuru’s speech, the head of state asked for the Pontiff’s blessings to lead this country well and also asked to be prayed for so that he may win the battle against graft.

With six of his cabinet secretaries already out of the cabinet over corruption allegations, His excellency felt that he required divine intervention to fully lead this country into war against corruption.

In the heart of every Kenyan, we know we must win this war and it falls on me to lead it and Holy Father, I ask for your prayers as we fight this war,” said President Kenyatta.

Kenya’s future depends upon upholding the highest standards of integrity in governance, inclusivity and the protection of peace. Your Holiness, like you, as a nation, we want to combat the vices of corruption, which sacrifice people and our environment in the pursuit of illegal profit.”
