Four people died in a road accident on the Kericho-Nakuru highway on Saturday December, 19, including a 17-year-old student.
Kericho County police commander Silas Gichunge confirmed the incident stating that the accident occurred after a Probox and a Nissan X-trail collided head on.
According to Gichunge, the driver of the Probox which was heading towards Kericho was over speeding and lost control. He veered off his lane and rammed into the X-trail which was heading towards Nakuru.
He added that both vehicles were extensively damaged due to the collision impact.
Four people who were in the Probox including the driver died on the spot while others sustained serious injuries.
Apart from the student, the other three victims were a 45-year-old woman and two men aged 29 and 30.
Survivors from the crash were helped by Good Samaritans and taken to various nearby hospitals.
