Al shabaab Releases The CUban Doctors Kidnapped in Kenya

The Al shabaab have released two cuban doctors who were kidnapped in Mandera Kenya back in April 2019.

According to reports disclosed by the Somali Intelligence official, the two doctors were released on Wednesday 7 October.

Landy Rodriguez and Herrera Correa were kidnapped by militants in a raid that led one Kenyan journalist shot dead.

The doctors were released by the al shabaab following months of successful negotiations with the Somali Intelligence who acted on behalf of the Cuban.

According to the Cuba’s foreign minister who confirmed their release in his tweet he said, ““I had a telephone conversation with the Somalian Foreign Minister Mr. Ahmed Isse Awad. I appreciated the support and efforts of his government to guarantee the safe return of our kidnapped doctors.”

The two doctors are said to be in good health. Their release today came after the Kenya courts released the westgate terror suspect. A coincidence?
