National Transport and Safety Authority has come out to notify Kenyans that alcoblow tests will begin happening today in all the major towns and cities spread out in Kenya. On a statement released on their Twitter page, they stated that most people have been unable to stick to the basic road safety requirements.
On a the press statement released, they argued that this year so far there has been a 1.3% increase in the number of deaths on roads. “Motorcycles deaths and pillion passenger deaths increased by 44.94% and 19.44% respectively,” read a part of the statement.
They then added that since bars and other drinking places have been opened, we have experienced over 60 deaths attributed to drank driving and speeding. The number of police on roads might as well increase as they will be focused on every road rule set by the government.
