US President Donald Trump and First lady Melania were diagnosed with coronavirus on the 2nd of October following a positive test by one of the President’s closest assistants, Hope Hicks.

The President spent a couple of days at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, where he was taken as a precaution.

His campaign manager, Bill Stepien, proposed that in-person debates should be held on 22 and 29 October instead.

The president had said he wasn’t willing to “waste time” on a virtual debate.

His doctor, Dr. Sean Conley, says the President has completed his course of coronavirus treatment and has reacted well.

“Since returning home, his physical exam has remained stable and devoid of any indications to suggest progression of illness. Overall he’s responded extremely well to treatment, without evidence on examination of adverse therapeutic effects.

“Saturday will be day 10 since Thursday’s diagnosis, and based on the trajectory of advanced diagnostics the team has been conducting, I fully anticipate the president’s safe return to public engagements at that time,” stated his doctor.
