Amos Nyaribo Sworn In As Nyamira Governor

Amos Nyaribo has been sworn in as the new governor of Nyamira County after the late John Nyagarama. He was sworn in at Nyamira Primary School.

The ceremony was attended by leaders from across the country, including Council of Governors Chairperson Wycliffe Oparanya.

The new governor is required to present a nominee for the position of deputy governor within 10 days of his swearing-in. The nominee will assume office as Nyamira County Deputy Governor upon successful vetting.

Nyaribo’s working relationship with the late governor was not so good following the court battles between the two. Nyaribo had one time accused Nyagarama of failing to honour pre-election pacts.

Nyaribo, who previously served as Deputy Governor, was sworn in at the same school where he and Nyagarama took their oath of office after their win in the 2013 general election and their re-election in 2017.
