Residents of Iduku village,Lugari Sub-county Kakamega county are in sorrows after an elderly woman was raped before being brutally murdered by unknown assailants.
It is said the decomposing body of the elderly woman, Jessica Anene who leaves alone was discovered by neighbors on Thursday February 25 2020.
According to the neighbors, they got curious after noticing the woman was missing since Monday as efforts to reach her through her cellphones became futile.
One of the neighbors said they have been taking care of her livestock hoping she would come back home.
Today afternoon a neighbor’s child stumbled on a key thrown near her gate. It’s then that the kid decided to alert her parents who later opened the door where they were met by a bad smell.
On looking around the bedroom they were shocked to see a naked body which had injuries in her private parts lying next to a broken bed.
Police officers from Turbo Police station removed the body and took it to Moi Teaching and Referral Mortuary Eldoret for a postmortem as an investigation begins to unveil who the assailants are.
