The Chinese Government has said it will build new headquarters for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which is expected in the next three or four years.

The project, which is estimated to cost a total of Ksh4 billion, will be part of the China’s agenda to support Kenya’s development.

The State-of-the-art facility will be located in Kenya’s capital Nairobi and will be an upgrade of the current offices which are located along Harambee House.

Speaking during a ceremony where the Chinese government donated two VIP buses, Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau welcomed the offer as well as expressed gratitude.

“I look forward to working with you to ensure the completion of this important project before the end of your tour of duty in Kenya,” he stated.

On his part, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Zhou Pingjian promised that China would do whatever it takes to assist Kenya realise its development aspirations.
