Comedian Eric Omondi has been released on bond worth KSh 50, 000 a day after his arrested.
He was detained for illegally producing and distributing unauthorized films dubbed ‘wife material’.
His arrest was as a result of collaboration of officers from the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The compliance officers accused the comedian of violating provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya by producing and distributing unauthorized content in the show.
He will be arraigned in court on March 18 2020. The arrest came barely months after KFCB chairman Ezekiel Mutua warned him of the same show.
