The Cs Interor Cabinet has declared Friday 31 July a public holiday to mark Idd-ul-Adha in recognition of religious and cultural diversity as part of the national identity.
“Friday July 31 2020 has been designated as public holiday of general observance throughout the territory of kenya in celebration of Idd-ul-Adha,” he said
He said Kenyans will join Muslim brothers to mark the day. The purpose is to remind muslims of the willingness of prophet Ibrahim to offer his son as Sacrifice.
Amid the pandemic, the CS directed the day’s event be celebrated in strict adherence to measures placed which include wearing masks and avoiding overcrowded places.
