Tourism Cabinet Secretary, Najib Balala, was quickly flown to Nairobi for treatment after he collapsed at an event in Narok County after having a meal.
The Deputy President, William Ruto, Narok Governor, Samuel Tunai, were some of the high profile guests at Narok County Investment Summit where Balala fainted.
The Standard reports that the Tourism CS passed out at the VIP tent after having a meal with the DP and Narok governor.
The CS was rushed to the nearby the Serena airstrip where he received first aid before being airlifted to Nairobi for further treatment.
The CS had been looking frail, but was able to finish fielding questions from the investors,” a source told The Nairobian.
“We heard a commotion in the VIP tent, prompting us to rush to the scene to see for ourselves. That is when we saw the CS lying on the ground,” added the source.
There is no official communication from family members or government regarding Najib Balala’s condition.
