DCI Launch a Manhunt Of a Man Filmed Torturing Suspect With Burning Plastic

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) has launched a manhunt for a man who was filmed torturing a suspected thief with hot plastic.

While sharing the video, the DCI ordered the man to surrender at the nearest police station by Monday evening, April 5, 2021.

“The inhumane punishment meted on the victim, on suspicion of having committed a crime is not only callous but uncalled for and an affront to the victim’s fundamental rights and freedoms. 

“In this regard, the DCI is demanding that the suspect presents himself to the nearest police station within 24 hours, failure to which he will be declared a dangerous and wanted criminal,” the statement read.

However, a special team from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, Special Service Unit, and the Operations Branch has been assembled to help in quick arrest of the suspect.

The video seen making rounds showed the man holding a burning plastic net over the suspected thief who was tied to a metal pole while pleading.

“It’s my first time, it’s my first time,” the victim wailed and groaned as the man allowed the hot molten plastic to drip on the man.
