Dennis Itumbi is a Kenyan Pig and Avocado Farmer since 18th March 2020. He has worked as the Secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President of the Republic of Kenya, based in State House Nairobi. He has worked as a team Lead at www.nexus.or.ke Digital strategy.
A circular from the Public Service Commission dated March 18, 2020 said the positions held by Itumbi, James Kinyua, Erick Ng’eno, David Nzioka and John Ndolo have been declared redundant.
“The contracts of the underlisted officers be terminated in accordance with the termination clause in their contracts to facilitate payment of gratuities on prorata basis,” it read.
The abolished positions are Senior Director, Communication (Digital, Innovation and Diaspora Communication); Senior Director, Communication (Events and Branding); Senior Director, Communication (Speech Writing); Director, Communication (Events and Branding) and Principal Information Officer (Head of Digital Strategies).
The PSC CEO Simon Rotich through a letter to the Interior CS Fred Matiang’I on March 18, said that the positions were scrapped in a bid to reorganize the government.
Itumbi, who lost his job on his birthday, received a lot of messages and advice from Kenyans and other leaders.
