Police detectives have arrested the former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa and he is under interrogation by the special service unit.
The former CS has has been arrested for fraudulent deals with internationals mainly from turkey.
Echesa allegation is that he was going to help the Turkish international acquire a tender with the government to supply ammunition and firearms.
The officers that arrested Echesa claims that he was arrested outside akey office within Nairobi.
Some critical documents were retrieved from him.
The complainants from Turkey are recording statements as investigations are on going.
His vehicles have also been impounded including a Range Rover.
Last year, Echesa blamed opposition leader Raila Odinga for his sacking.
Echesa said his tough stance against privatisation of state-owned sugar factories and his unwavering support for Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 bid contributed to is removal on March 1, 2019.
Echesa was fired in March 2019 by president Uhuru Kenyatta from sports docket replacing him with the current CSÂ Ambassador Amina Mohammed.
