Education CS Magoha Accuses Cartels Of Pushing For Reopening Of Schools

On Tuesday 25 August, the Education CS George Magoha accused “immoral cartels” at the ministry for pushing of the reopening of schools.

He made it clear the government would only allow learners back to schools once the institutions meet the set required guidelines.

“Be sure the reopening will be done when schools have met the specified guidelines. Nobody is going to intimidate us,” said Magoha. 

He also claimed there were cartels operating private learning institutions following losses incurred when schools were halted were behind the motive.

“At no time will government cartels to dictate to the government what it should do as regards when and how to restart learning in schools,” he added.

Magoha said pushing for reopening was only causing confusion especially when learning at the community centers has begun.
