FC Barcelona Confirms One Positive COVID-19 Case

Barcelona has confirmed one positive COVID-19 case but their clash against Bayern Munich is not in doubt.

Undisclosed player has been confirmed to have contracted the Virus and has been forced into quarantine.

In a statement released via their website the tests were conducted on Tuesday evening.

“Following PCR tests conducted on Tuesday afternoon on the group of nine players due to begin pre-season today, one of them has tested positive,” read the statement.

Setien will still take his original 22-man squad to Lisbon on Thursday’s game as the Champions League reach its conclusion in a revised straight knockout format in Portugal.

All Players within the group are still being subjected to regular testing, and as it stands the fixture against Bayern will go ahead as scheduled.

This news came in two days after Atletico Madrid’s camp confirmed cases ahead of their last-eight meeting RB Leipzig.
