Former Tetu MP James Gethenji has tested positive for the Covid-19 disease days after he was arrested.

Gethenji, who was arrested only last week, failed to appear in court on Monday but his lawyer confirmed that he had been placed in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.

“Gethenji has been exposed to Covid-19. He is in isolation and is taking temporary measures. He is willing to abide by the DPP’s directions,” lawyer Ishmael Nyaribo told the court.

The former MP is accused of forging the minutes of Kihingo Village (Waridi Gardens) management company in November 21, 2018 in Nairobi..

Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku postponed the case until December 1, 2020 and directed for the police cash bail paid by Gethenji last week to remain in force.

Gethenji and his family were the original developers of Kihingo Village, but he fell out with his brothers over control of the Sh20 billion estate.
