The Garissa senator Haji Yusuf, father to the the DPP Noordin Haji has passed away today at the age of 80.
A family member confirmed the sad news stating the Senator died while receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi today at 5 a.m.
The lawmaker who got sick back in September 2020 and had to undergo a surgery that lasted for four hours.
This is after it was reported the lawmaker had slipped and dislocated his hip at his home in Garissa.
He was flown to Turkey for treatment but recently returned to the country and was admitted at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi where he has been receiving treatment.
He has left behind eight children including Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and Abdul Haji, a businessman.
The deceased served as the chair of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce after being appointed the President.
