As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to strike, different sectors in the country have received the biggest backlash and tourism sector is one of them. As the country is preparing to re-open its economy,the government has decided give a 50% discount on the entry fees in all game parks.
This was a decision reached and the new rates took effect on Wednesday . The government says its aim is to encourage local tourism and help it recover from the losses incurred after the country went on lock down.
Tourism CS Najib Balala announced that the KWS had given a 1 year halt to lodge owners in its game reserves and parks for rent payment.
Filmmakers also have been discounted by 50% on filming fees in the KWS parks to help in marketing them both locally and international.
Kenyans have been urged to grasp the chance to tour Kenyan parks and reserves before the come back of international tourism.
