The Kirinyaga County Governor, Waiguru recently released a press statement concerning the new budget allocation Kirinyaga County MCA’s wanted her to sign.
She released a press statement expressing her disagreement and disappointment stating not only are some of the allocations illegal but also could not approve. She claimed the MCA’s had moved vital funds from paying health workers to building their ward offices.
“Apart from this being illegal, I cannot approve the specific alterations done to the budget,” Waiguru stated.
She added,”This is completely unacceptable given that the health workers have put their lives on the line to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and it would further put the lives of Kirinyaga residents in danger for not being able to access health services.”
