Ivory Coast’s Prime Minister Amadou died on July 8 few days after returning from a two-month stay medical treatment in France. He was to continue receiving treatment back at home for recurring heart problems.
The 61-year-old man who had a heart surgery back in 2012 fell ill after atttending a weekly cabinet meeting and was rushed to the hospital where he died.
His death was confirmed by the Secretary General Patrick Achi on state Television.
“I am deeply saddened to announce that Prime Minister Amadou Coulibaly, the head of government left us early this afternoon after taking part in cabinet meeting,” said Patrick.
Amadou served as a Prime minister since January 2017 after serving as Secretary Genereal of the presidency for 6 years.
