Adele’s chart-topping love ballad, hello, has captured both the ears and hearts of many music listeners and in pursuit of this many artists across the globe have tendered their own covers and parodies to the song.
The huge wave also got to catch up with Kenyan artists including the likes of Dela and latest to join the bandwagon was Jimmy Gait with release of a Christian rendition of the love ballad.
In what seems to be the most disliked song ever in 2015, Jimmy Gait’s Hello cover has garnered 2,537 dislikes compared to his 465 likes on You Tube with views totaling up to 65,592. Well being a man under siege as Kenyans denounce and bash at him on social media, Jimmy Gait has finally spoken up in defense of his song.
While speaking to Nairobi News, Jimmy Gait said;
“For me it’s about the message and I have no issue with the reaction as long as they get the message because at the end of the day, music is music.”
And to his critics, he said;
“I love my fans and my critics as well because they keep me focused. I actually wish all my fans and critics a Merry Christmas.”
