Kenya Railways has changed the Nairobi to Nanyuki Rail Service schedule to meet the increased demand for passengers traveling during the festive season.
In a statement to media houses on Tuesday, 22 December, Kenya Railways revealed that for Christmas and New Year’s period, the train will move to Nanyuki on 24 December 2020 and return to Nairobi on 27 December 2020.
The New Year train will travel to Nanyuki on 31 December 2020 and return to Nairobi on 2 December 2021. Both trains leave Nairobi and Nanyuki at 9 a.m.
Kenya Railways Managing Director Philip Mainga said that the decision to change the timetable was a result of increased customer demand to travel by train to various destinations along the route during the festive season.
The Managing Director added that the organization has expanded the number of business and economic coaches to meet the demand.
The Nairobi – Nanyuki Rail Passenger Service started operations on 11 December 2020 with a weekly round trip leaving on Fridays and returning on Sundays.
