On Monday, November 23, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) warned Kenyans about some 5,500 jobs that were announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

KWS disclosed in a statement that fraudsters had breached the process and were providing fake letters of appointment to prospective Kenyans aspiring to serve as community scouts.

The service also explained that it had not begun the procedure of disbursing letters to qualified applicants.

“The attention of Kenya Wildlife Service has been drawn to fake appointment letters, purporting to place successful applicants in previously-advertised community scout jobs.

“We wish to clarify that all applications received for these posts are still being processed,” stated KWS.

KWS revealed in a statement that it was searching for people who would assist it in the protection of wildlife.

The project was part of the Covid-19 initiative declared in the seventh Presidential Address in May 2020 by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
