Refreshing moments gone wrong as a woman skidded and fell into chepkiit waterfalls, Nandi County while trying to take photos.
Dorcas Jepkemoi aged 31 is said to have been swept away by seething waters moments after sliding while her partner, Benjamin Kazungu was taking photos of her.
His effort to save her bore no fruits as he watched her helplessly drown. “I tried to rescue her but I was not able to since the dam was full,” he said.
The lady’s family which resides in Kapchorwa Village in Keiyo south hasn’t left the area of incident since Sunday hoping for a miracle.
The family also is appealing to county government to assist retrieve her body.
“It has happened and we accept it. What we are requesting is help retrieve the body for burial,” said her brother Victor Kiptoo.
The Nandi police commander however had stated the efforts to retrieve the body had been blocked by the seething waters.
He also asked the public to stay away from the waterfall and dam as it had become dangerous due to the heavy rainfalls.
