DJ Evolve’s father Mr. John Orinda recently thanked Embakasi East MP Babu Owino for providing a helping hand in sorting out the son’s medical bill. This comes after DJ fraternity group wrote a protest letter in demanding that DJs across the country be treated with respect they deserve. And that revelers shouldn’t be allowed to party while carrying their guns.
Mr. Orinda has come out again saying his son is not in good condition. Speaking to one of the local media, Mr Orinda said his son has not spoken for days.
“He is in a serious condition and has not spoken for the last four days after they inserted tubes on him,” he said.
Mr Orinda went ahead to say that he prays his son gets well soon.
“We are just giving him some time to rest. The bullet bruised his spine and he might go under the Knife on Tuesday,” he added.
According to sources, DJ Evolve might have lost the ability to use his limbs, in medical terms he might be paralysed.
Babu’s lawyer Cliff Ombeta spoke to the media revealing the last conversation Babu and the DJ had before he was shot on the neck.
Ombeta told the media on Saturday that Babu and DJ Evolve are pals and on that day of the shooting, they were chit-chatting.
That is when DJ Evolve teased Babu asking if he really had a gun and to prove his point, it was by a gunshot. Ombeta explained that Babu drew his gun, not realising that he had held the trigger because he was intoxicated, sending a bullet into the DJ Evolve’s neck. CCTV footage of the shooting incident went viral.
Babu was released on a 10 million cash bond but was granted the privilege of paying in instalments which got Kenyans so angry but all they did was complain online.
