Ne-Yo and Crystal are no longer together and have been having issues for quite some time . A source told the outlet, “Crystal left him. She’s had enough.” A source claims Crystal will be making the split official and filing for divorce very soon.
After four years of marriage, Ne-Yo and his wife and mother of his kids, Crystal Smith, are officially calling it quits. During a visit to the Private Talk Podcast, the “So Sick” singer confirmed the divorce rumors that have been circulating on the internet. He had gone ahead and said, “It’s slowly but surely becoming public knowledge that myself and my wife have decided to go ahead and get a divorce, It’s not a sad thing, it’s more of us realizing…long story short, I’m never gonna talk bad about her. I’m not that person.
There’s nothing bad to say about her. She’s a fantastic woman. She’s the mother of my children and she’s always gonna be that.
The singer-songwriter alluded to some serious drama taking place, calling it “the final straw” in the couple’s troubled relationship. Prior to the split, there was speculated that the World of Dance judge had been unfaithful to his wife while working on the series.
Sources claimed that Ne-Yo had cheated on Smith with one of the dancers from the show. At the same time , the singer denied the rumors and claiming that he and Smith were in a good place in their marriage.
The couple hasn’t shown signs of trouble in the past couple of months. They were spotted celebrating New Year’s Eve together.
Ne-Yo shared photos writing a lengthy caption praising Crystal. He wrote, “Headed into the new year wit a RIDER. 2019 had its bumps and bruises, yea sure.
But it’s not about the difficulty, it’s about ones ability to realize when something is worth fighting for and ones willingness to push thru to the potential greatness of a situation.
There no such thing as perfect, a lesson we both have had to learn and lock in. But perfect for each other is a real thing. And that’s you and me❤️ Big plans for 2020 baby! But regardless of what happens 2020 will be absolutely AMAZING so long as you’re by my side. I love you @itscrystalsmith 💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍 #FlyMarriedShit.”
Sharing an insight into their strained marriage, Ne-Yo stated: ‘Long story short, she’s got demons just like everybody else, just like me. We realise that our demons don’t mesh and until both of us get a hold of our personal demons, it’s gonna be just difficult for us to stay married. With that being said, that’s the end of that chapter, not the end of the book.
Like I said, that’s the mother of my kids and I love her to death. We’re going to be family forever.’
They tied the knot back in 2016 and later welcomed two sons, Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr. and Roman Alexander-Raj Smith. This was Ne-Yo’s second trip down the aisle.
He was married before to Monyetta Shaw. They also have children together, Mason Evan Smith and Madilyn Grace Smith.
