The Ministry of Energy has come out to state that there will be more Electric car charging stations outside most buildings including the ones owned by state. This comes as a move by the state to increase the number of electric cars being imported in the country by 5%.

This means that with the increase of the new technology being used, real estate developers will be required to feature an electric car charger outside their buildings.

“This strategy is to guide the country towards achieving its established energy efficiency goals, which include reducing the national energy intensity by 2.8 per cent per year and enabling the country to achieve a 30 per cent emission reduction by 2030,” reads a statement released by the Ministry of energy last week.

To get the number of electric cars to 5% will mean increasing the number of electric vehicles being imported into the country up to 16,000 per year. As per last year we had a 327,000 autos including 210,000 motorcycles.
