We know that COVID-19 is usually passed through human contact (handshakes and touching), through droplets in the air (sneezes and coughs) or contact with infected surfaces (doors, pews, hymnals).

This is not the time to attended burials and churches.

Last week a A Time based priest held a mass at a burial in Siaya county. The priest then later tested positive for COVID 19.

The nuns who came into contact with a priest  after leading mass during a burial in Ugunja,  have now been placed under quarantine.

Siaya County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal said all the sisters from Lwak and Aluor convents and others from the surrounding parishes have since been isolated on suspicion of coming into contact with Father Richard Onyango Oduor.

The county’s health department response team has since also visited the home where the priest presided over a burial mass to identify more people who need to be quarantined.

Priests serving at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Utawala, Nairobi, where Fr. Oduor spent a day after arriving into the country from Rome are also under self-quarantine.

The priests from Utawala who came in contact with him have promised to get tested on Tuesday.
