Othaya Law Courts Shutdown For 14 Days

The Othaya Laws Courts in Nyeri have been shutdown following COVID-19 case that was confirmed.

The court is said to remain closed until September 7, 2020 to prevent further spread of the Corona virus that has become a major threat to the world.

“We have scaled down our operations for the next 14 days in order to ensure safety of our staff and contain the spread of the virus,” Monica Munyendo, Senior Resident Magistrate said in a notice.

In the notice, she stated the current matters that were set for hearing will be rescheduled. Court pleadings are to be filled electronically and will be heard virtually.

She also noted the court will continue with its hearing for urgent matter but virtually. This comes barely days after Homa bay law court was also shut down for 14 days.
