Police Officer Among Individuals Arrested For Using Stolen IDs To Acquire Loans

A police officer is among two people who have been detained for registering simcards and acquiring loans using stolen IDs.

The officer who is identified as Boniface Nthenge is stationed at Kitengela. The other individual, Lucy Syombua is believed to be a member of the syndicate.

The two suspects are said to be part of the syndicate that use stolen Identification Cards to access loans and other benefits from mobile service providers.

“Hundreds of fraudulently registered sim cards and electronic equipment believed to be used for hacking purposes have been recovered from the lady’s house in Umoja Nairobi,” said DCI Boss.

He further claimed investigations are ongoing as detectives are pursuing other suspects in the syndicate.
