On Saturday December 19, 2020, ODM leader Raila Amollo Odinga hosted hundreds of members of the Council of Eminent Persons from Muran’ga for a meeting at his home in Opoda farm in Bondo, Siaya County.

Macharia, council chairman Joe Kibe, secretary Dr Nyamu Njoka and bishop Gideon Mithiga.
The elders, led by chairman Kibe, said they have come to pay a special visit to the former Prime Minister.
“As elders, there’s a special ceremony that we usually perform to a fellow elder especially when he/she is recuperating from sickness,” Kibe said.
He said they are going to slaughter a goat and drink the soup as part of the special ceremony.
The elders and senior politicians from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Mt Kenya backyard are expected to endorse the former Prime Minister for President in 2020.
