American singer Rihanna is set to come to Uganda in June this year and East Africans are looking forward to the big event.The news was revealed by events security guru Dixon Okello who posted the message on his social media, information that was received well by fans and other artists.
But it looks like Ugandans are now taking advantage of this visit and have taken it to a whole new level when it comes to election campaigns.
As we all know, Uganda is set to hold its 2016 general elections on February 18 and political aspirants are using all kind of ways to get the citizen’s attention.
Campaign posters are usually graced by photos of the candidates and a logo or motto but in Uganda, American artsits are also vying for seats in the coming elections.One of them is the hot R&B singer, Rihanna, who is apparently running for a representative post in the elections. She is the poster girl of Joan Nabukenya who is vying for the seat of District Woman MP.
Well, Rihanna is not the only foreigner vying for a seat in Uganda’s elections. Footballer Lionel Messi is also contesting.
