The Somalia Government reopened the Kenyan Embassy After 26 Years.

The present premises situated along the lower Kabete road were purchased by the Somali Government in 1972 and have never been used since the collapse of Somalia in 1994.

“Standing here, looking at this gleaming building, I don’t see just a fresh office block. I see a symbol of Somalia rising to from ashes back to greatness, like the proverbial Phoenix,”

“Our common endeavor for durable peace, viable stability and sustainable development for both our peoples and region continue to underpin the necessity for our mutual cooperation,” Foreign Affairs CAS Hon Ababu Namwamba stated during the colorful ceremony.

Namwamba continued to assert the commitment of the Kenyan Government to Somali to further strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries through trade and people-to-people exchanges, as well as to support the issues of Somalia and those of the continent in the global arena during his tenure as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council 2021/22.
