Taxi Driver Found Dead After Missing For A Week

A taxi driver identified as Peter Gitau Mburu based in Kiambu who has been missing for a week was found dead.

The man’s family reported that they last communicated with the deceased on December 8, 2020, while he was transporting some clients to Nyahururu. However, the next day they could not reach him and reported the matter to the police.

His phone was traced to two different locations, Gatimu near Nyahururu and later Bibilion in Limuru.

His wife Mercy Nyeri, stated that she last communicated with the deceased on the night of his disappearance, when he was updating her on his whereabouts.

“At around 11:30 p.m., I called him, and he told me that he was approaching Nyahururu. But the next morning, when I called him, his phone was out of reach,” she explained.

George Njoroge, Gitau’s brother, stated that they carried out a search for days, after which they were informed that his body was recovered at Kanyuka dam in Ng’arua which is at the border of Laikipia and Baringo county.

A post mortem conducted on the body revealed that the deceased had been hit three times on the head using a blunt object.
