The Tharaka Nithi Governor has been freed on sh 6 million cash bail after he surrendered to the EACC on Monday 7 September over irregular awarding of sh 34.9 million solid waste tender.
The lawmaker is said to have been barred from accessing county offices alongside the other accused until his case is heard and determined.
The governor and other 19 co accused persons were ordered to leave their passports in court.
In the ruling, chief magistrate stated he had considered the seriousness of the offence and the submission by the defence on bail.
He was also further charged with a third count of conflict of interest in relation to the tender.
