President Uhuru Kenyatta has rescheduled the anticipated summit which was to happen Friday 24 to July 27, 2020 upon request by the governors.

The meeting was/will evaluate the COVID-19 preparedness in the country and review the containment measures amid the surging cases of Coronavirus.

In a statement issued by the State House spokesperson via twitter;

“President Uhuru Kenyatta has accede to the request by the Council of Governors to rescheduled the 5th Extra-ordinary Session of the National and County Govts Co-ordinating Summit to review the surge of Covid-19 infections in the country from Friday,24 July to 27TH July 2020, read the tweet.

The meeting’s proceedings will be used to make decisions on whether to revert the lock down or introduce other measures.
