Three people, two of whom are women, are being investigated in connection with the death of a 58-year-old woman whose body was found dumped along the road in Ragana area, Suna West, Migori County, on Sunday morning.
According to village elder Simon Maucha, the deceased, identified as Leonida Orimba, had some injuries on her body, indicating she was murdered and her body dumped by unknown attackers.
Mr. Maucha said their preliminary investigation indicates the deceased was spotted at a nearby chang’aa den before her body was found dumped along the road.
He went on to say that they suspect the woman died at the chang’aa den and her body was sneaked out of the home at night.
The incident was confirmed by the area chief, Christopher Owuo, who stated that the matter is being investigated by the police.
One of the suspects narrated that the deceased went to her home late in the evening asking for chang’aa which she refused to give out because she was already drunk.
She claimed that they served her food and then escorted her out of the home so she could find her way back to her house on her own, adding that she is unaware of what happened to her after she left.
