Jacob Obunga, popularly known as Otile Brown and Nadia Mukami, have emerged as Boomplay’s most popular Kenyan artists of 2020 according to the company’s latest report by Boomplay Music Facts 2020.
The two cumulatively had over 11.5 million streams on the music streaming platform, over a one-year period.
Otile had the highest engagements and three of his songs emerging as the most streamed tracks.
Rap Kings, Khaligraph Jones and Nyashinski took 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, while Mercy Masika and Tanasha Donna made the top 3 for the female list.
In Tanzania, Diamond Platnumz, Rayvanny and Mbosso took the top 3 spots respectively with their country counterparts Zuchu and Nandy claiming the top 2 and Simi from Nigeria, closing off the top 3 spots in the female category for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Boomplay, which is Africa’s largest streaming service, has over 50 Million Monthly Active Users and 11 Million Active Users at at November, 2020.
