Two people have escaped from mandatory quarantine at the Wambugu Farm Center in Nyeri town. Police in Nyeri County have launched a manhunt for the two.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, County Commissioner Lyford Kibaara said the two had been quarantined after they were caught breaking curfew rules.

According to Mr. Kibaara, the two who cut grills at their cubicle and fled from the center.

“it will not be business as usual” until they’re arrested, SAID the coUnty commission.

Other quarantine facilities in Nyeri include the Kagumo and Kamwenja Teachers Colleges while Mukurwe-ini Hospital and Nyeri National Polytechnic have identified as isolation centers with a combined capacity of over 300 beds.

This also happened last week in Nairobi at KMTC where 50 people escaped quarantine. Most individuals are evading the mandatory government quarantine due to the cost of upkeep in the facilities.
