Two Pupils Of Nyatuoni Primary School in Kisii Drown During a School Tour To a Waterfall

Two pupils of Nyatuoni Primary School Kisii on Thursday March 11 passed away while on a Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) trip at the Riamusa Waterfalls in Etago sub-county.

It is reported the two pupils drowned in River Riasota which flows out of Riamusa Waterfalls.

The two male students were aged 13 and 15 years. Confirming the incident, Etago OCPD Joel Chesire, stated the two drowned after slipping into the river while touring the Riamusa Waterfalls.

“We have launched investigations to establish circumstances leading to the accident,” said the OCPD. 

The two bodies if tge drowned students were retrieved by the police officers and taken to Kisii County Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.

Drowning cases of children have been on the rise for tge pasr one year as Kws urged kenyans and other tourist to be on the watch while visiting such areas.
