Unsuccessful Attack on Kenya Army at the Somali Border.

The Rapid Border Patrol Unit (RBPU) in Yembo border, a border between Kenya and Somali, was recently reported to be under attack by Alshabaab terrorist group of Somali.

The attack witnessed was one of other small attempts by the Alshabaab which were both unsuccessful.

The recent attack saw a few Kenya Army officers hurt from the attack. The Alshabaab had descended on the army with heavy artillery fire but it was no match for the fire power the Kenyan army had.

The Officers in Action account tweeted saying:

“Reports just received; Yumbis RPBU Camp currently under heavy attack no clear info about the casualties, further update is expected.”

The Kenyan troops however have been facing huge challenges due to the rugged terrain of the North Eastern part of the country which has hindered it’s operating capacity.

The attacks which are similar in type of techniques commonly used by the Alshabaab group, where they attack in a group of less than 8 members has been recently on the rise.
