WHO Warns Against Re-opening Of Economies

The World Health Organization has been on the fore front trying to help in research that may lead to finding the vaccine of the Covid-19 global pandemic.

Speaking on a virtual meeting, the leader of WHO Tedros Adhanom has sent a word of caution to countries planning to reopen the economy.

“Some countries have now experienced a resurgence of cases as they start to reopen their economies and societies. Most people remain susceptible. The virus still has a lot of room to move.

“Although many countries have made some progress, the pandemic is speeding up. We all want this to be over. We all want to get on with our lives, but the hard reality is that this is not even close to being over,” he said.

This comes at a time where many countries which were locked down have started re-opening their economies back to the normalcy before the pandemic strike.Kenya is one the countries preparing itself to re-open its economy. Will words of Mr. Tedros Adhanom hault the plans underway?. So far there has been over 10 million infections and over 500,000 deaths worldwide.
