It’s already in public domain that the publicly displayed relation prior to 2017 general election has quickly faded only leaving a skeleton of hope that holds their supporters together hoping they might re-unite in preparation for 2022 general election.
The recent infighting between deputy president William Ruto and a staunch supporter of president Uhuru Kenyatta led by Party Vice Chairman David Murathe and Secretary general Raphael Tuju has opened a tin for discussion.
Deputy President William Ruto’s fight to maintain control of Jubilee party could be jolted by the reorganisation of a crucial party organ and the quiet return of David Murathe who Uhuru refused to accept his resignation from the party structure.
Ruto’s lieutenants’ led by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and his Bahati counterpart Kimani Ngunjiri has vehemently attacked president Uhuru Kenyatta of turning his face against his deputy president in dare time of need.
They were responding during a press briefing when visited the office of the registrar of political party after they claimed that a section of party officials had engineered changes to National Management Committee, one of the top Jubilee organs, triggering a vicious war within the ruling party.
The DP termed the changes “the work of political rejects, conmen and fraudsters” whom he said should be ejected from the rank and file of the Jubilee party.
“I wonder why the head of state has to hide his face against deputy president, they campaigned together and now he want to betray him for Tinga (Raila), we won’t allow this but by 2022 we will know who wins,” Ngunjiri said.
Political pundits believe that the relationship between president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy Ruto worsened after DP failed to adhere to the set rules against traversing the Country campaigning.
