Police officers in Bungoma County have detained three of the eleven suspected criminal inmates who escaped from Bungoma Central Police Station on August 16.

The 11 were said to have dug a hole on the wall of the cell and fled despite the facility being considered well-guarded.

Confirming the arrest by the detectives from DCI, Bungoma OCPD Wilson Nanga said the inmates were found in different locations.

“Our officers arrested John Wekesa at his home in Mayanja Vitunguu on Kanduyi-Chwele highway on August 24. They arrested another suspect in Webuye town as well as the one who was shot in the thigh on the day they escaped,” Nanga said.

He further said the remaining 8 will be arrested however much they run unless they surrender.
