A police officer who was on duty when former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa and two foreigners visited Deputy President’s office in the Sh39.5 billion fake arms deal was found dead in his house in Imara Daima, Nairobi.
The officer, who sources say was on duty the day former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa visited the DP’s office in the company of two foreigners in the fake Ksh.39 billion military equipment deal, is alleged to have shot himself.
DCI boss George Kinoti who was on his way from Mombasa diverted to the scene and summoned officers from the homicide department to take charge. His arrival caught many officers off-guard.
The slain officer is said to have gone missing from work since Wednesday.
Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai and DCI boss George Kinoti were not immediately available for a comment but officials said they had been briefed on the new development.
